"G with an O, O with a D, T with an I and an M with an E, and a Good Time." That single phrase sang by Alan Jackson tells it all when you experience Country Thunder. What a time I don't know if the concerts were better or if the partying with my friends. I am lost for words right now because the experience was simply indescribable.
The Concerts were amazing I saw Tracy Lawrence (who is one of my all time favorites), Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson, Jack Ingram, Kelly Pickler, Taylor Swift, Rodney Atkins, and many more. This was a country festival for all ages. I even met people that didn't even like country they were just there for the party.
Throughout this past week I took a big step out of my comfort zone because I have never danced in my life when people are watching but this week I did a lot surprisingly. Now what made me feel like I needed to we won't go into. Hehe!
If I had to choose who was the best I would probably say Tracy Lawrence because I am a huge fan or Taylor Swift. I love the old music from Tracy such as "Paint Me a Birmingham" or "Texas Tornado." Taylor Swift simply can't sing but since she is 19 she knows how to keep a party going and she makes all the young girls go crazy.
So next year when the Country Thunder returns to Twin Lakes, WI, I would highly recommend going even if you don’t like country and are just looking for a good time. Just to hang out with your friends every day and to do some partying. Who knows you might find that you like country because as Tracy Lawrence says “You can’t hide REDNECK.”

Antoine, I'm glad you had fun.
ReplyDeleteAnd girls like men who can (or just will) dance.
I am no country fan but I would probably go to experience the craziness. I can't line dance, would bump n' grindin be acceptable? The festival sounds like a blast, I'm glad it met your expectations. It sounds like you felt very comfortable pushing the limits of your comfort zone so that can only be good. Congrats on surviving and still making it to the play.
ReplyDeleteI too love Tracy Lawrence. I think my first experience with him was in karaoke, maybe 12 years ago in a bar in Washington called Parrish's. Growing up I did not listen to country music at all. My parents were rather anti-country. When I got hired on at the Sheriff's Department that is all I was able to listen to (low man on the totem pole did not get control of the radio). By the time I moved up, I had gained a respect for country music. Country music singers seem to be less of a prima donna type, and more down to earth. Their music is about every day, common people. It's so awesome you got to go. It sounds like the libations did not affect your memory too much.
ReplyDeleteI"m so jealous that you got to go and have so much fun. I'm a big country fan but I haven't gone to any concerts, which is really depressing. But I agree with Deb in the fact that country music is less prima donna. The people seem more real and likable.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had fun. It's nice when you get to hang out with your friends and do something fun. What does Tracy Lawrence sing? I can't think of any of his songs right now. I like Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson, and Taylor Swift. So I think it would have been fun.
